Hi, I'm Wesley. I help couples understand why they have times of feeling alone, frustrated, and confused with the person they once felt the most connected to. I love working with all different constellations of couples - straight and LGBTQ.
I use a specific kind of couples therapy called Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (that's not a typo, by the way, it's technically called couple therapy). EFT is an evidence-based model of couples therapy and I've never seen anything else work the way this model can. I have completed the advanced training in this method and continue learning with supervision and workshops while I work towards certification. I also use The Gottman Method in my work and find their rock-solid assessment and focus on intentionally building positive bonds with partners highly effective. I have completed Levels I and II in The Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.
Want to know me a little more personally? I am from California, and have lived in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Virginia, and now Charlotte. I'm a California girl at heart, and you'll often hear me asking you how exercise is fitting into your self care. I try to be myself in the room and want you to be yourself. My belief is that it's not about perfection with couples, or with families - it's about the repair. Do you effectively repair so that each of you feel heard and cared about?
